The phenakistoscope is not a medical instrument but in fact an early animation device, invented independently, and almost simultaneously, in 1833 by two men in different countries. This is a modern take on Victorian-era viral hit, which sold under many names. Each mini zine features a phenakistoscope you can play with at home as well as instructions to make your own and a little bit of history to share in a legacy.
